Long Term Care Insurance
Do You Have It?

How many people have Long Term Care Insurance these days? Believe it or not, a lot of very savvy people do. Their jobs provide them with options to get that insurance or they bought it themselves a long time ago. Either way, it’s an incredibly smart move. The cost of home care can be very high depending on one's needs. In my experience, people need to be informed of how important it is today. There are many Long Term Care Companies to get information from. I was told the best time to buy a policy is when you turn 53.

We feel lucky to have health insurance. We sometimes don’t look ahead and think about where the money will come from to pay for care at home in case it is needed after surgery or a long term illness. We don’t know if Medicare or Medicaid will be able to take care of the growing older population of those 65 and older. There are approximately 40 million accounting for that age at the moment and by 2030 the baby boomers will grow to about 70 million. They say that 10,000 people turn 65 every day in this country. It makes you wonder how much Long Term Care Insurance will be available.

Did you know you can Convert the Proceeds of your Life Insurance Policy to Pay For Long Term Care for Home Care or for Facility Care?

In 2010, The National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) passed the Life Insurance Consumer Disclosure Model Law. If you are over 65 and currently receiving Care at Home or in any LTC Facility, you are eligible to Convert the Death Benefit of your Life Insurance and can be used to pay LTC Home Care or Facility. We all need as much help as possible, so this information is invaluable.

The man who brought this to my attention is David Kitaen, CLTC. Please email him or find out more on his website.
